The memorial sign of the 1849 campaign was erected on October 6, 1866 by King Ludwig II. donated. It was awarded to all soldiers of the Bavarian contingent who participated in the 1849 campaign against Denmark. It should be recognition and memory of the dedicated service and military merits of the soldiers in this campaign.
Bavaria put up a brigade in this war, consisting of 4 infantry battalions, 1 regiment of chevaulers and 2 batteries of artillery. The cross was also awarded to the flags of the relevant departments. There are also reduced crosses (32 mm).
Dark bronze cross. The cruciform arms with slightly outwardly curved ends have a raised smooth rim. It has a bronze color and is not painted. The inner sides have a slightly curved transverse hatch. Front and back with embossed round central screen. A wide ear with a ribbon ring is knocked out on the upper cruciform shoulder.
