This monument was donated by King Maximilian II. June 10, 1849. Soldiers, non-commissioned officers, officers, staff officers, generals and military officials of the military department in the Palatinate were awarded, who in 1849 during the uprising or uprising conscientiously performed their duty. In addition, loyal gendarmes and customs officers were awarded the medal. 4th, stationed for support in Landau. The squadron of the Baden 2nd Dragoon Regiment was also awarded a commemorative medal. The medal was made of light and dark bronze. Silver medals are also known, the awarding of which has not been confirmed.
The star springboard on the back should be a reminder of Feste Landau's defence. There was no demand for a return.
