This memorial sign (cross) was presented by King Ludwig II on August 25, 1866 in memory of the 1866 campaign. Only soldiers and officers belonging to the mobile army received this award. The decisive period was from June 21, 1866 to August 2, 1866. Also eligible for this award were the border guards of the Eastern Corps, soldiers of the Mainz fortress, Marienberg and Rosenberg at the indicated time. Field priests, field post officers, staff members, and doctors working in the military were also eligible for admission. Soldiers who worked only at the stage did not receive it. Field Marshal Prince Karl of Bavaria received a special cross as a neck cross. This is with gilding and enamel.
Bronze cross with rounded cross-shaped sleeves and smooth edges. Round central shield front and back. The inner side of the cruciform arms is cross-hatched and framed. Above is an eye with a ribbon ring.
