The Jubilee Agricultural Medal was established on 16 September 1910 by Prince Regent Luitpold of Bavaria. The Agricultural Association of Bavaria celebrated its 100th anniversary. As a defender of the association, Luitpold instituted this commemorative medal. The medal was awarded in gold, silver and bronze. The gold medal was awarded to dignitaries such as government officials or dignitaries. The selection was made personally by Prince Regent Luitpold. The silver medal was reserved for members of the Bavarian Agricultural Council and chairmen of award committees. Higher officials in agriculture were also eligible. The bronze medal shown here was awarded to members of award committees, professors of agricultural faculties and persons who deservedly fought for unification. In particular, they included the circle of persons who were entrusted with the organization and holding of the anniversary festival. The anniversary holiday was the famous Oktoberfest today. The award number of the bronze medal is 1175 pieces. Source: J. Nimmergut, German Orders and Badges of Honor until 1945, vol. I, 1997.
