Awards of Germany - Order of Military Merit Cross 4th class with crown and swords
This order was established by King Ludwig for services to the state, which were not enough to be awarded the Order of Max Joseph, but which nevertheless had to be appreciated. Initially, the award consisted of 6 classes: Grand Cross, Grand Komtur, Komtur, 1st class, 2nd class and Cross of Merit. On February 26, 1900, Prince Luitpold established the Officers' Cross for award. In 1905, the remaining classes were renamed.
Grand Cross, 1st Class, 2nd Class, 2nd Class with Star, 3rd and 4th Class. all classes can also be awarded a crown. In 1913, there was a new expansion into 3 classes. Since 1916, all classes except the 4th began to be made of gilded silver. Notable manufacturers were Jacob Leser, Straubing, Gebr. Hemmerle и Weiss & Cie. from Munich.
Cross with pointed cross-shaped sleeves, silver with dark blue enameled cross-shaped sleeves. Front and rear with a gilded central shield. There is a silver flame between the cross sleeves. On the upper cross shoulder are slopes, 2 crossed, silver swords. Above is a movable silver crown. A ribbon ring passes through the imperial crown apple. On the agraffe on the left is W.Co. - (Weiss & Cie), on the right is a silver score of 950.
