The jubilee medal for the 2nd Shevouleger Regiment was awarded along with 3 other medals on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of its foundation. Anniversary of the 4th oldest Bavarian regiments, donated with the permission of Crown Prince Rupprecht. Other regiments included the 10th King Infantry Regiment, the 2nd Kronprinz Infantry Regiment, and the 1st Shevolezherov Regiment.
The regiment was formed on 29 June 1682 by Elector Maximilian II. It was formed as a cavalry regiment, the "Regiment on horse Louis Marquis de Beauveau de Croan." Since 1811 it was called the 2nd Chevaulgers-Regiment Fürst von Thun und Taxis, since 1848 only Taxis. The owner of the regiment has always been a member of the princely family. The location of the regiment changed very often. Like other regiments, the regiment participated in many wars, such as the War of the Spanish Succession, Napoleonic Wars, Liberation Wars up to the First World War.
It was last disbanded in Regensburg on 1 April 1919. Then the tradition was adopted by the 3rd squadron of the 17th Bavarian cavalry regiment in Ansbach. In 3 Reich it was continued by Panzer Regiment 25 at Bamberg.
This madaille was also made of silver and Argentan. On the front side next to a small branch is the signature of the artist HW for Heinrich Wadere, sculptor and medallist in Munich. Whether silver medals were intended for officers has not been established.
Round medal made of matte silver-plated bronze without a raised border. On top is a soldered, ordinary eye with a ribbon ring. On the edge of the medal is carved - BAYER. MAIN MINT -.
