On the occasion of his 90th birthday on March 12, 1911, Prince Regent Luitpold established a jubilee gold and bronze medal with an annual numbered ribbon of 1821-1911. This medal corresponds to the design of the anniversary medal, established back in 1909, with numbers 1839-1909. The difference lies in the annual figures.
The jubilee medal was awarded to former Bavarian servicemen associated with the 1st Field Artillery Regiment, whose holder was the Prince Regent. It can be assumed that gilded medals were intended for higher ranks, and bronze - for lower ranks. Medals were awarded in very small numbers. Award numbers are given for a gold medal of 33 pieces and for a bronze medal of 30 pieces. The portrait facing left is made according to the relief of Professor V.V. Hildebrand. The portrait is equal to the medal of Prince Regent Luitpold and anniversary medals with and without a crown. The crown and ribbon were made at the Jacob Leser art institution in Straubing.
