This jubilee medal, along with 3 other medals, was awarded on the occasion of the 250th birth anniversary. Anniversary of the 4th oldest Bavarian regiments, donated with the permission of Crown Prince Rupprecht. Other regiments included the 2nd Kronprinz Infantry Regiment, the 1st Shevowlegers Regiment, and the 2nd Shevowlegers Regiment.
The regiment was founded in 1682 by Elector Max Emanuel for the Kurbavian army. The original name "Regiment of Foot Count Berlo" changed several times and was eventually renamed the "10th König (Ludwig) Infantry Regiment" on November 5, 1913. Over the long regimental history, the regiment participated in many wars. After World War I, the tradition was adopted by the 5th Company of the 20th Bavarian Infantry Regiment.
