This commemorative or jubilee cross in early April 1918 by King Ludwig III. The occasion was the 50th anniversary of the king as a cavalier (Hungarian) infantry regiment No. 62 "Louis III. King of Bavaria." All senior officers, military officials, senior non-commissioned officers, as well as retired regiment commanders were eligible. Crosses were made on the main coin of Munich. Due to the resemblance to the "King Ludwig Cross," it is likely that the seal on the front is also made by sculptor Professor Bleecker. Only 350 coins were minted on the coin. The cross is thus considerably rarer than the bronze "King Ludwig Cross" with approximately 73,000 awards.
Elongated cross made of black etched iron. Front and back panels with oval center screen (23 x 19 mm).
Cruciform shoulders without raised edge smooth. On the upper cruciform shoulder is a wide ear with a ribbon ring.
