The veteran's badge was awarded by King Maximilian II. established June 30, 1848 for the fighters of the campaigns of 1790-1812. And also for the continuation of hostilities against Russia until the battle of Leipzig on October 18, 1813. These included all the military, which in the 90s until 1812 were in the "combat-ready state" of the Bavarian army and could prove it. Soldiers from other German states who participated in the campaigns of the Bavarian army during this period also received a veteran's badge. In the same way, military officials serving in the field army were able to receive a memorial sign. The veteran's sign was not refundable. The lost insignia were not replaced. On the other hand, the purchase of spare parts and possibly second parts was allowed. There are pieces with green recessed cross sleeves and gilding of the edges of the cross sleeves and relief type or medallions. These are private revaluations and do not match the original fund.
Bronze cross with pointed cross ends. Front and back panels with round center screen (15 mm). The raised edges are bright. The inner sides are dark oxidized. A wide eye with a ribbon ring is knocked out from above.
