Landwehr awards were presented to the Kingdom of Bavaria on January 21, 1876 by King Ludwig II. donated. It was awarded in 2 classes. 1st class as a cross was awarded unchanged until 1918. 1st class was intended for officers and medical instructors who faithfully served on vacation for 20 years in excess of normal service. The 2nd grade was a buckle made of embossed, black-painted iron sheet, through which the order ribbon with an embroidered code - L. II. - moved. Behind with a pin. The 2nd class was awarded upon serving in the reserve and landwehr to persons on leave if they participated in the campaign or were called to active service for at least 3 months. When counting the war years, they were taken into account twice. 1st grade was subject to return after death, 2nd grade - only in case of deprivation. Under Prince Regent Luitpold, the awarding provisions were changed. Since 1913, the Landwehr has been awarded a medal.
