A commemorative badge for the royal couple's golden wedding was instituted on 20 February 1918 by King Ludwig III and presented on the same day. This memorial sign was received only by the general and adjutant wing on duty, as well as officers and dignitaries of the court state commanded for the celebration. Very few commemorative signs came to the ceremony. The fringing and middle coin stamps no longer exist. The project was developed by Professor V. George and minted at the Munich Mint.

The golden wedding took place on February 20, 1918 at the Munich residence. Church and school celebrations were part of the celebration, as well as worship at court. The royal couple also visited the cathedral. On the occasion of the golden wedding, the royal couple donated 10 million marks to charity. It was supposed to create a fund.
Oval, openwork working badge of honor made of dark bronze. In the center is a gilded oval medal made of zinc. At the back is a vertical pin.
