Awards Germany - German States - Anhalt - Duchy

The duchy arose in 1863 from the merger of 3 separate principalities of Bernburg, Köthen and Dessau. In 1866, Anhalt joined the North German Union under the Prussian leadership. The duchy lasted until 1918 and thereafter as the Free State of the Weimar Republic.
The capital was Dessau.
The dukes were:

Leopold IV. (1863-1871)
Frederick I (1871-1904)
Frederick II. (1904-1918)

The general home order is the Order of Albrecht the Bear. Due to the small size of the duchy (population in 1925 about 350,000), orders are very rare and expensive.
Today the duchy is in Saxony-Anhalt.
