The badge of honor for members of the fire brigades was established on November 21 by Duke Frederick I of Anhalt.
The award was to be awarded to members of the voluntary fire brigade, who continuously for 25 years carried out faithful and useful service. In addition, in exceptional cases, members of the professional fire service can also be awarded if they have served for many years. It should also be assumed that the required condition is at least 25 years or more. It was also possible to be awarded for excellent services in the field of fire extinguishing. The badge of honor could be worn after leaving the service. There was no demand for a return.
Volunteer fire brigades in the Angaltina Fire Association in 1902 44 included fire brigades and a total of 3,259 members. There are also silver-plated medals with a slight deviation in coinage. Firefighters tended to wear buckles from back to front to show more clearly what merit the award was worth. In 1913, the Golden Badge of Honor for firefighters was established. With the exception of one award publication, no other awards are provided. The silver medal was awarded about 1,500 times.
