The Badge of Honor was established on April 10, 1926 by a decree of the Angal State Ministry. On November 8, 1926, the fund was expanded with a commemorative sign for 50 years of service. It was made of the same size gilded bronze. The awards recognized firefighters of the organized, Anhalta fire brigade, who have been active members for at least 25 years and have distinguished themselves by their dedicated performance of official duties. Organized fire departments included both voluntary and professional fire brigades. Firefighters, already receiving a badge of honour given by Duke Frederick on 21 November 1888, were unable to receive a new badge of honour for 25 years. Additionally established honorary badges for 50 years or the same award for 40 years (since 1930) were able to receive these firefighters. In exceptional cases, these honorary badges were also awarded for special merits in extinguishing a fire without taking into account the established minimum service life. Board members, mayors, honorary members or senior officials were considered. After equalization in National Socialism, the award was discontinued at the end of 1936. The silver medal was awarded 1124 times. Источник: Gerd Scharfenberg, Die Orden und Ehrenzeichen der Anhaltischen Staaten 1811 - 1935, 1999.
