Service award shown here 1. The class for the gendarmerie, the Ducal Jaeger Brigade, after the introduction of awards for military service on the Prussian model, was awarded to gendarmerie officers even before 1913. In terms of design, they are equal to the service awards of 1848. The award was established on February 1, 1848 by Duke Leopold Friedrich for military personnel from sergeant major to 2nd grade. However, after 1870, the size was adjusted for military service awards. This means that service awards given to a jäger unit since 1870 are of a wider size than those of 1848. It was awarded to Ober-Wachtenmasters, Wachtenmasters, sled hunters and foot hunters of the Ducal Jaeger Brigade or Gendarmerie. The exact number of awards cannot be named. Court and state manuals list 1883 35 holders of the 1 service award. class and 1912 54 Cavaliers. Since the transition from the old to the new, larger form was quite smooth. However, service awards are very rare, suggesting an extremely low overall award. Source: Gerd Scharfenberg, Order and Badge of Honor of the Anhalt States, 1999.
