German Awards - 2nd Class Buckle 1847 Anhalt-Bernburg

The service award presented here was presented for 15 years of faithful service. These service awards were established on March 24, 1847 by Duke Alexander Karl of Anhalt-Bernburg in 3 classes. Sergeants, military doctors, soldiers and gendarmerie officers were awarded. 1st class was assigned after 21 years of service. The 2nd grade was awarded silver after 15 years, and the 3rd grade - black lacquered iron after 9 years of service. At the same time, service award crosses were established for the officer class in the 2nd grade. This is after 50 and 25 years of service. When assigning the upper class, the lower class had to be retained. Soldiers saying goodbye were allowed to continue wearing the buckle. After the death of the borrowed, the buckle was subject to return and had to be sent to the military commission. At the time of its foundation, Anhalt-Bernburg had a very small military contingent, consisting of a linear battalion of 370 people. The service award buckle of the 2nd class was awarded 52 times. The buckle is rectangular in silver. They are applied to a sheet associated with the ribbon. On the back is a horizontal pin.

Front side:

• The rectangular buckle has a raised double rim. Outside wide inside narrow.
In the
• center is a high oval shield with a raised edge, which rises above the rectangle above and below.
• The substrate is finely ornamented, both in the rectangle and in the oval.
In
• the oval, the Roman number increases 15 - XV -.
On the
• left next to the oval rises - ALEX: -, to the right of it - CARL -.
• All protruding parts are polished.

Downside:

• Suture is applied on tape from behind.
• Horizontal needle with hinged bracket and lock nut is soldered.

Tape:

Width from 38 to 40 mm, watered grassy-green with white side edges 3.2-3.5 mm wide, green wicker edge.
