A gold medal of merit with a crown was awarded on the occasion of the assumption of office on August 19, 1904 of Duke Frederick II. donated by Anhalt. The Crown was granted as an addition to the gold and silver medal for special merit. The gold medal "For Merit" was established as part of the Household Order of Albrecht Medved on 18 November 1836 by the Dukes Heinrich of Anhalt-Köthen, Alexander-Karl of Anhalt-Bernburg and Leopold IV. donated by Anhalt-Dessau. It was awarded as a reward for loyalty and devotion, talents and legitimate service activities. About 140 gold medals with a crown were awarded. Subsequently, the crown could be awarded to the gold medal for merit or directly. Of these, only 7 awards are directly related to the crown. A large number of awards fell on teachers. The Order of the House consisted of the following classes: Grand Cross, Commander, Knight, Gold and Silver Medal of Merit. Merit medals with a crown were rarely awarded. The data on the award is unknown to me. The Crown Meritorious Service Medal could also be awarded with swords. However, they are extremely rare.
