Awards Germany - German States - Hanover - Kingdom

The Kingdom of Hanover was formed in 1815 by the Congress of Vienna from the Elector of Brunswick-Luneburg. The ruling clan are Welfs, who were already kings in England since 1714. The Kingdom of England and Hanover were ruled in personal union by the Welsh. After the war of 1866, Hanover became a province of Prussia. Thus, the period of existence of the kingdom lasted only 51 years.
The kings were:
  • George III. (1814-1820) since 1811 regent George IV.
  • George IV. (1820-1830)
  • William IV. (1830-1837)
  • Ernst Augustus II. (1837-1851)
  • George V (1851-1866)
