German Awards - German States - Schaumburg-Lippe - Principality

The principality arose from the former county near Hanover. In 1807, Schaumburg-Lippe entered the Rhine Union and Count Georg Wilhelm made himself prince. The capital was Bückeburg. After 1815, the country was a member of the German Union, and since 1871 - part of the German Empire.
The princes were:
  • Georg Wilhelm 1807-1860
  • Adolf I George 1860-1893
  • Georg 1893-1911
  • Adolf II. 1911-1918

Prince Adolf was one of the last princes to abdicate in 1918. In the Weimar Republic, Schaumburg-Lippe was a free state.
