This commemorative medal was established on the occasion of the silver wedding on April 16, 1907 by Prince Georg Schaumburg-Lippsky. The medal was awarded to all princely relatives and guests of magnificent celebrations. Also, the medal received yard employees, civil servants and duty servicemen. Women wore the medal on a ribbon loop on their left shoulder. The silver wedding took place in Bückeburg. Already on the eve of the city theater began festivities in theaters and musical performances. On the day of the anniversary in the morning, a festive service was held in the city church. In the afternoon, as a culmination, a popular procession took place, which passed by a specially built canopy for the princely couple on Palace Square. The highest guest was Emperor Wilhelm II. present, who as a gift made a family castle in Rinteln, located on Prussian-Hessian territory. The prince was awarded the large commander's cross of the Order of the Hohenzollern House, and his wife - the Order of Louise.
The project of the medal and stamps was entrusted to the court medalist of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha Max von Kavachinsky.
On April 16, 1882, the son of Prince Adolf I Georg (1817-1893) Stefan Albrecht Georg zu Schaumburg-Lippe married Princess Maria Anna of Saxe-Altenburg. The wedding celebration took place in the castle of Altenburg. 9 children were born in the marriage.
Round medal made of matte silver without a raised border. Above is a soldered ordinary eye with a ribbon ring.
