Awards of Germany - Princely Schaumburg-Lipp Home Order Officer Honorary Cross
The cross was established in 1899 by Prince Adolf Georg. It ranks between 2nd and 3rd grade. For military merits, the officer's honorary cross was also awarded with swords crossed in the center. By the end of World War II, crosses were made of silver. In the principality of Lippe-Detmold, the cross of officer honor was established only in 1913. Exact award figures are not known. The cross is very rare.
In 1890, the Schaumburg-Lippe line founded a separate order of houses. Both houses of the order had the same shape, but from the very beginning in the medallion there were different middle parts, and on the medallion behind - different inscriptions. Since then, Schaumburg-Lippe has had the letters - AG - for Adolf Georg. Simultaneously with the foundation of a separate order "House and Merit," swords and swords on the ring for all classes were granted for merits in the war. The Order of Arts and Sciences, established in 1899 in 2 classes, was annexed to the Home Order. For special merits, the 3rd and 4th could. The class will now be awarded a crown. The order was subject to return upon transfer to a higher class or upon dismissal. However, lower-class sword ornaments could continue to be worn in parallel. The princely Lipp Order was created on October 25, 1869 by two rulers of princely houses Leopold III. established by Lippe-Detmold and Adolf I Georg Schaumburg-Lipp as a common order of the house. It originally consisted of 3 classes and 2 merit medals. In 1887, the statutes were changed and for especially outstanding services, the 4th class was introduced, as well as oak leaves above the 2nd class. The attached medals were converted into a silver and gold cross of merit. Source: J. Nimmergut, Deutsche Orden und Ehrenzeichen bis 1945, vol. II, 1997.
