German Awards - World War I "German Army


The German army is the official name of the ground forces in the Kaiser Empire.
The German army included the ground forces of Prussia, Bavaria, Saxony and Württemberg. The armed forces of other German states were integrated and often constituted their own regiments or battalions. The kingdoms of Bavaria, Saxony and Württemberg had their own military ministries and were subordinate to the corresponding king.
