The officers received the 1st Class Landwehr Award of Prussia. This award was received by all non-commissioned officers and soldiers who performed their duties in the reserve and landver and participated in at least one campaign. The service award was presented in the form of a buckle from 1871 to 1913. On July 30, 1913, the Grand Duke issued a decree transforming the buckle into the usual medal form at that time. Medals were awarded until 1918.
