The Landwehr and Reserve Award was first established on January 4, 1877 by Grand Duke Frederick I in the same class. This was to become for the Baden contingent an analogue of the Prussian award 2. A class is assigned. Non-commissioned officers and soldiers who served or were called up for active service for at least 3 months were awarded. The first form of award was a buckle.
It consists of a black iron frame covered with tape. It has embroidered letters - FWL -. By order of December 18, 1913, the new uniform was introduced as a medal. The old official award in the form of a buckle could be exchanged at your own expense. Award sheets were not kept.
