This badge of honor was established on June 12, 1914 by King Frederick Augustus III. donated. The badge of honor was an addition to the badge of honor in the form of a buckle for 25 years of service, established on May 11, 1885. It was awarded for faithful and useful service to the firefighters of the kingdom, who had worked continuously in the volunteer fire department for 40 years. As an exception, it could also be awarded to long-term employees of the professional fire department or otherwise standing in the fire service. The designs belong to Friedrich Wilhelm Hörnlein (1873-1945). Hörnlein succeeded Bardulek on the royal Saxon state coin Müldenhütten in 1911. The front side was later also used for the fire honor insignia for 40 years in the Free State. The Badge of Honor is very rare due to the short term of the award.
Round medal made of matte gilded bronze without embossed edges. Above is a knocked out rougher eye with a ribbon ring.
