The awards of the Kingdom of Saxony were first presented by King Johann in 1869. Under King Albert, these medals were instituted in 1874 in only 4 classes. In 1885 (2nd edition) the classes were reorganized and a large special class was created.
Medals were awarded both a portable award on a ribbon ring and an unbearable medal in a case. The tagger was Bardulek. During the award period, many stamp options were used. So, new stamps were made in 1869, 1877 and 1896.

Round silver medal with rim. Above is a soldered ordinary eye with a ribbon ring.
