This medal was presented on the occasion of the golden wedding of the grand-ducal couple on June 28, 1893 by the Grand Duke Friedrich Wilhelm. He was married to Auguste Caroline, nee Princess of Great Britain, Ireland and Hanover. The medal was awarded in 3 stages. Gold gilded with silver was awarded to invited guests. All court officials received a medal in silver, and the court servants who attended the celebrations received bronze. The celebration took place in England, London. The medals were minted by G. Loos's successor L. Ostermann at the Berlin Mint. Gold and silver medals were worn on the ribbon of the Home Order of the Vendian Crown, bronze - on the ribbon of the Cross of Military Merit.
Medals are a rarity at all stages. At the moment, only 4 gold medals are known. The rest of the steps are also practically not available. Источник: Peter Ohm-Hieronymussen, Die Mecklenburg-Strelitzer Orden und Ehrenzeichen, 2000.
