It was originally established by King Charles on April 14, 1879 in accordance with Prussian regulations for officers and doctors on vacation. At the same time, the 2nd class was donated for long and faithful performance of official duties during the vacation period and gratuitous performance of official duties during the period of service established by law. With the assumption of office by William II., the front side was redesigned and now bears the letter - W - in the middle medallion.
Silver Cross. Cross-shaped brackets with a raised polished edge, the inner sides are finely grainy. Front and rear with round central shield (17 mm). The ends of the crosspiece are slightly curved. On the upper cruciform shoulder is an ordinary ear with a ribbon ring.
