The Ehrenkreuz warrior society shown here was established by the Braunschweig Landver Union. The exact time could not be established. One of these events could be the 25th anniversary of 1900. The Cross of Honor is one-class and was certainly awarded for merits or long-term membership. The Braunschweig Landwehr Union was founded on July 11, 1875 to unite individual landweirs. The protector was Prince Albrecht of Prussia as regent of the Duchy of Brunswick. In 1887, the latter established the Landwehr sign. The main goal of the union was "the education of love and loyalty to the prince and fatherland, the emperor and the empire - the elevation and strengthening of partnership - mutual assistance in need - the solemn burial of buried members." Already in 1859, warriors from the Schleswig-Holstein campaigns in Braunschweig united in a club. After several attempts and efforts by small associations, on July 11, 1875, the Bethmann Hotel in Braunschweig was founded. The first chairman was the awarded lieutenant of the Landwehr Comrade Gutkind and the deputy comrade Hulsenbek. At the time of creation, the association consisted of 24 clubs, which consisted of 3441 members. In 1877, the new chairman was the Prime Lieutenant of the Landwehr, Director Humpe. In 1879 there were already 54 clubs with 5,129 members. Lieutenant General von Seuner and Colonel Dedekind were the first honorary presidents of the Braunschweig Landwehr. In 1913, the Braunschweig Landwehr consisted of 27,163 members in 312 clubs. As a manufacturer, the Mehn flag factory in Braunschweig and the Gustav Hanneck coinage in Braunschweig are known. Honorary crosses are rare in the market and accordingly expensive.
