Obverse: Cross for Faithful Service 1916

This cross was probably established by the Hamburg Senate in 1916. However, there is no credible evidence for the foundation. It is assumed that the Hanseatic city wanted to create its own badge of honor for military assistance, similar to the Prussian award. Similarly, due credit should be given to relevant merit such as activities in military enterprises, care for survivors and wounded, public catering and other merit of general welfare. Like the Foundation, the awards remain in the shadows. It is not known whether or how many awards took place. There are not enough relevant documents or documents for this. The cross presented here is very rare and, in spite of everything, is assessed as relating to time.
The last mention of the cross dates back to 1919. I would really appreciate more information.
