This badge of honor was established on July 3, 1815 by King Frederick I. On July 8, this was announced. Those soldiers in the 1815 campaign who deserved a special decoration of 3 classes were to be awarded. 1st class - golden cross, 2nd class - silver cross and as 3rd. the class was to serve the already existing silver medal "For Military Merit." Because the campaign was very short, there was little opportunity for awards. Only 22 awards with the Golden Badge of Honor are known, the Silver Badge of Honor was awarded only 52 times, and the medal "For Military Merit" - 3. There are 59 classes. Stamps for the cross were made by medalist Johann Ludwig Wagner, who worked at the Stuttgart Mint. He also created the Military Merit Medal and the Medal of Honor for 1814. Crosses are extremely rare.
Golden, eight-pointed cross. Crosses with raised smooth edges. The inner sides of the cruciform sleeves were matte or very fine-grained. The front side has an embossed round central shield (14 mm). On the upper crosspiece is an angular depressed ear. Thanks to this, a flat ribbon ring made of red gold.
