German Awards - Friedrich Luisen Medal 1906
The medal was established on the 80th birthday of Grand Duke Frederick on September 9, 1906. The occasion was his upcoming golden wedding on September 20, 1906. The medal was awarded to members of the board of women's associations, Vincentius and Gospel hospital societies and other charitable societies, doctors, abbesses and ordinary nurses who have worked for a long time in the field of social security and nursing or have earned other special merits. The stamp was created by Rudolf Mayer, a professor at the Karlsruhe School of Applied Arts.
Gold medal in rimless bronze. Above is a wide ironing eye through which the band is stretched.
Front side:
- One by one, the right-facing portraits of a golden wedding couple.
- In the foreground is Friedrich in the uniform of a field marshal.
- Behind Louise with a crown on her head.
Downside:
- Above is a large crown. Under it, 2 emblems are laid out on the left and right at an angle.
- The signs are connected in the upper corners by a laurel garland.
- At the left coat of arms of Baden, on the right coat of arms of Prussia.
- In the middle between the shields down a bouquet of three long-barreled roses.
- To the left of the stems is the number of the year - 1856 - to the right of it - 1906 -.
- Including on the left - 20. - on the right - 9. - about half as much.
- The numbers are limited on both sides by the ends of the laurel garland.
