German Awards - 1906 Commemorative Medal

This commemorative medal was donated by the Grand Duke Frederick I in 20.09.1906. All military personnel, officers and soldiers who served on entry in 1856 had the right to admission. The wedding took place in the royal palace in Berlin. The spaler at the wedding ceremony was the officer corps of Berlin, Potsdam, Spandau and Charlottenburg. As well as the entire retinue of the principalities present at the golden wedding. Members of military deputations, commanded on September 20, 1906, as well as representatives of foreign powers and persons separately appointed by the Grand Duke. The celebration of the golden wedding took place in Karlsruhe. The stamps for the medal were made by Rudolf Mayer of Pforzheim. He also made medals. About 300 medals were awarded.

Round medal made of gilded bronze without a raised edge. On top is a wide ironing eye for pulling the tape.

Front side:

• Along the edge is an elevated scribe ring, interrupted below by the shoulder parts of the four rulers.
• On it is a raised font: - ° - FRIEDRICH - I - LOUISE - VON - BADEN - 1856 - ° - 1906 - ° -.
• In the middle is a breast portrait of the Grand Duke facing the right with his wife behind him.

Downside:

• Above is a large crown. Under it, 2 emblems are laid out on the left and right at an angle.
• The signs are connected in the upper corners by a laurel garland .
• At the left coat of arms of Baden, on the right coat of arms of Prussia .
• In the middle between the shields down a bouquet of three long-barreled roses.
• To the left of the stems is the number of the year - 1856 - to the right of it - 1906 -.
• Including on the left - 20. - on the right - 9. - about half as much .
• The numbers are limited on both sides by the ends of the laurel garland .

Tape:

• Yellow 26 mm, edge 1 mm, side stripes red 7 mm.
