The medals were made by Eduard Quelhorst in Munich. The stamps were made by coin maker Korn of Wiesbaden. Some silver medals were struck unofficially but were not awarded. The medal was minted in the amount of about 6,000 pieces. Known award figures are about 5,300. The medal was not refundable. Source: J. Nimmergut, Deutsche Orden und Ehrenzeichen bis 1945, vol.
