This award was established by the Red Cross Land Society in the Grand Duchy of Hesse in 1900. Members of the land association were awarded after a faithful 10-year membership. The Hessian Red Cross Union was founded in 1898. At the same time, the volunteer sanitary columns of the Red Cross were subordinate to the land association. The beginning of the association dates back to 1864 and 1870, when the first auxiliary associations for the care of soldiers were created. 1872/73 the Association for the Care of the Sick and Support of Soldiers in the Field, an independent land association of the Kaiser Wilhelm Foundation for the German Disabled, was created. The Badge of Honor Foundation is accepted by me 10 years after the founding of the land association. I did not have more accurate information.
