German Awards - Service Badge of Honour 2. Class for 21 years 1891

New badges of honor were established in 1891 after King William took office. The previous service badges of honor under King Charles of 1864 and 1874, respectively, were equipped with new medallions of the front side while maintaining the shape and a little less. As before, 2 classes were awarded. 1st class for officers, higher middle and non-commissioned officers and soldiers from sergeant major below gilded after 25 years of service, 2nd class in silver for non-commissioned officers, as well as soldiers from sergeant major below awarded after 21 years of service. The division of years of service, according to the military convention with Prussia of November 25, 1870, has already been adopted and preserved by King Charles. The award was presented with a certificate of ownership and was not refundable.

Silver cross. Crosses with raised smooth edges slightly curved inward at the ends. The inner sides are finely indented. The front and back have embossed circular central signs. The central shield of the front side is partially enameled. On the upper cruciform shoulder is a soldered ordinary eye with a ribbon ring.

Front side:

• The central letter is W - in an ornamented Gothic form.
• This one is surrounded by a green enameled wreath of laurel leaves with fruit.
