Awards of Germany - Order of Albrecht Chest star to the Big Cross with swords (2nd form)
The Order of Albrecht was established on December 31, 1850 by King Frederick Augustus II. donated. The reason for this was the 350th. The day of the death of Albrecht Shelter (the progenitor of the Albertine line of the Vettins), who also became the namesake of the order. The terms of the award were very general. Initially, the order had 4 classes: the Grand Cross, Komtur 1st and 2nd. Class, knight and small cross. The crosses of the Grand Cross and the Komtur were the same size. The draft order belongs to Scharffenberg. J. F. Schroth's projects did not find favor and were rejected. The first form of the order, with a "bakery hat," was awarded until 1875. The second form depicts Albrecht with a folding cap. Swords were donated to all classes in 1866. The 2nd form with swords was granted in 1876 and in the First World War. Knights of the Order of Peace, awarded swords, received them over the cross. In thoracic stars, they were located above the medallion. Large crosses of the 2nd form with swords were awarded in 1901, 1905 and from 1915 to 1918. Starting in 1883, the breast star could also be awarded gold (gilded silver). Medallions and swords were made of gold or gilded silver. The inner ring of the medallion can be pearlescent (golden) or smooth (gilded). The manufacturer is mainly Scharffenberg, Dresden. Eight-pointed silver star. The rays are smooth. The 8 main rays are elongated. There are 4 intermediate beams between them. Individual rays are bordered by smooth thin strokes. On the front side in the center is a gilded and enameled round medallion. 2 laid, crossed, gilded swords pass through the center. They are connected to the star by hollow rivets. The back side is smooth with a vertical pin. In the center is a round decorative overlay with the manufacturer's designation.
Front side:
- The medallion with a gold pearlescent outer edge was subsequently a wide style.
- This one is enameled blue and bounded inward with an even margin.
- On the ring gold font: - ALBERTUS - ANIMOSUS - bottom ornament
. - It consists of a 6-ray star with lateral arabesques.
In - a closed midfield on a white enameled background, a golden, raised portrait.
- Image of a right-facing "fake" Albrecht with a "bakery hat."
Downside:
- Smooth with a vertical pin. Diagonally 4 hollow rivets of swords.
- Central on an ornamented covering plate is the Saxon coat of arms.
- Along the edge there is an inscription above: - G. A. Scharffenberg - below: - DRESDEN -
- Separated from 2 6-beam stars.
- Small around the coat of arms - GOLDEN WORKERS - F.D.K.S. - ORDENSCANZ: -unten 6-ray star.
