The Order of Albrecht was established on December 31, 1850 by King Frederick Augustus II. Initially consisted of 5 classes. The classes were Grand Cross, Komtur 1st and 2nd. Class, knight and small cross. 1861 was named 6. The class added a gold and silver medal for merit. The Albrecht Cross was established by King Albert on January 31, 1876. The cross replaced the Meritorious Service Medal awarded by then and formed the 6th class of the Order of Albrecht. The first form was awarded until 1909 and was made of several parts in silver. The 2 form depicted here has been assigned since 1910 and minted in a piece of silver-plated white metal. The inscription on the medallions is also slightly larger. The Medal of Merit of the Order of Albrecht could be exchanged for a new cross. The Albrecht Cross without swords was awarded about 10 thousand times.
Elongated cross made of silver. The cruciform arms are widened at the ends and bordered by 3 thin lines. Front and back with a circular embossed middle shield. On the upper cruciform shoulder is an ornament with a wide ear and a belt ring.
