The Order of Prague Castle was established on May 1, 1939 by decree of Adolf Hitler. This decree provided that the "Medal in memory of October 1, 1938," the Sudetenland Medal, could also be awarded to persons who deserved to create the protectorate of Moravia and Bohemia. Individuals who had previously held the Medal of Merit in Territorial Reunification received this tether as a re-award. The circulation is about 135,000 copies. The design was made by the Berlin sculptor Hanisch Concee. Miniatures for field clips were also produced. It is 13 to 14 mm wide.
As a result of internal unrest and German pressure, the Czech government accepted the offer of a concession from England and France. In the Munich Agreement of September 30, 1938, the governments of England, France and Italy determined the concession of the Sudetenland. On October 1, 1938, the territory was captured by German troops.
