The medal was not refundable, but could be returned to the Ministry of State, and the value was returned. The stamps were made by Max Haseroth, son of C. F. Haseroth, in Berlin. The latter was a ducal-Saxon court engraver. A total of 440 medals were awarded. At the first award, 165 medals were awarded. Source: J. Nimmergut, Deutsche Orden und Ehrenzeichen bis 1945, vol.
