This commemorative medal was presented by Grand Duke Adolf Friedrich VI. On the occasion of the death of his father on June 18, 1914, the medal was presented to the entourage of Grand Duke Adolf Friedrich V and the official guests of the mourning ceremonies held in Neustrelitz. The medal was not refundable. The medal was minted on the main Berlin coin. J.Godet & Sohn supplied 60 velvet cases for princely guests and 632 cases in Calico. The presentation of the award included a certificate of ownership, which was printed by Paul Liebig in Berlin. A total of 700 title deeds were issued. A total of 704 medals were awarded.
