German Awards - Badge of Honor for Caring for War
The medal was established on September 17, 1915 by the Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig. Persons who earned for military affairs were awarded. Initially, officers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers, as well as sanitary personnel for military merits not acquired before the enemy, could also be awarded. Since June 26, 1916, women who did not fulfill the conditions for awarding the Military Sanitary Cross were awarded an honorary badge. Meanwhile, the men were given a military insignia.
Bronze round medal with rim. Above is a soldered ordinary eye with a ribbon ring.
Front side:
