On December 24, 1831, service awards were established by King Anton and co-ruler Frederick Augustus II. established for 24 and 15 years faithful and groundless services of non-commissioned officers and soldiers. Medals for 24 years were silver, and for 15 years - bronze. The stamp for the first type until 1868 was cut by Karl Reinhard Kruger, an engraver at the Royal Saxon Mint in Dresden. In 1868, new stamps were made by Max Bardulek. This 2nd stamp shown here differs in some details from the 1st Kruger stamp. Distinctive features, among other things, are the bay leaf under the foot on the right -A (front side). On the back, the dots in the leaves of the rhomboid corolla have recesses. Since 1868, service awards have become 3-classic, to them was added a gold medal, which was now awarded for 21 years of service. The silver medal shown here was awarded to the 2nd grade and from 15 years of service. 3rd grade as a bronze medal was awarded from the age of 9. For the silver medal of the 1st form (both stamps) since 1832, different award numbers are indicated from 777 to 985 pieces.
