Germany Awards - 1915 Women's Bandage Karola Bronze Medal
The Carola Medal was established on September 17, 1892 by King Albert. The occasion was the 25th anniversary of the Alberta Union, which the Queen founded as a protector. Initially, this award was awarded for services in the Alberta Association, later also for services in the field of useful charity. Depending on the size of earnings, the medal was awarded in gold, silver or bronze. Eligibility was granted to both men and women or virgins. The Stämpelschneider was Max Bardulek in Dresden. On February 26, 1915, the reverse side of the medal was changed. Instead of the text for the anniversary: "Donated to the 25th anniversary of the unification of Albert in Saxony 1867-1892 For useful charity," the link to the anniversary no longer appears. The new text reads: "Donated to charity." On September 15, 1915, a separate ribbon for men and women was established for merits in the war. The bandage in men is rectangular with rounded corners. The clasp for women is shaped like a reclining oak leaf. Each with the inscription "World War 1914-16."
The bars have the appropriate medal color. The clasp for women for the bronze medal is made of yellow tombac. 865 bronze medals were minted.
