The SA sports badge was established on November 28, 1933 by the SA Chief of Staff Ernst Röhm for men who played sports to improve public health. January 19, 1939 renamed the military badge of the SA. Until 1935, the acquisition was tied to SA membership. From February 18, 1935, non-members could also receive the badge. They should have been between the ages of 18 and 35 and worthy of protection. It was awarded in bronze, silver and gold. Acquisition was performed in 3 exercise groups, athletics exercises,
Basic exercises in the military sense such as hand grenade throwing and terrain exercises such as terrain orienteering. To acquire the highest degrees of silver and gold, regular repetition of achievements was required.
Over time, the form of badge minting was changed. On the back of the 1st type (1934-35) the inscription: Property d. Chefs d. Education of the 2nd type (1935-38), this, has the inscription: property d. The main sports badge of the SA, 3rd type (1939) has the inscription: property of the top leadership of the SA, 4th type - the inscription: REM. There are badges with and without manufacturer and a matrix number, especially for the first two types.
