The sports badge of the Fuhrer HYU was established on May 6, 1938 by the Reichsügendführer Baldur von Schirach. SJ leaders should especially serve as an example for young people and themselves to a greater extent meet the requirements for members. This also applies to the sports field. By order of January 18, 1937, it was established that all Hitler Youth and German youth leaders, starting with warrant officers and squad commanders, had to fulfill the conditions of the Führer struggle every year. As an external sign of efficiency, the sports sign of the Fuhrer was then established. In 1939, the badge was introduced as the last level of the performance mark HJ - D. A prerequisite was the possession of the silver performance mark HJ. The sports badge was awarded in 2 stages depending on age. Level A was awarded from 7500 points, level B - from 6500 points. The badge was issued for a period of 5 years, during which the conditions of the decathlon had to be fulfilled twice. The first award took place in 1938, followed annually on October 2. Award items are worn on the reverse with a large award number. The only known manufacturer was G. Bremer Markneukirchen.
