The traditional gau sign for the gau of Greater Berlin was donated by Gauleiter Joseph Goebbels. The date of foundation is considered the day of the first award on October 29, 1936. The occasion was the 10th anniversary of the founding of the GAU. The badge was awarded in gold and silver. Awarding with gold was carried out only at the personal discretion of especially honored members of the NSDAP. The silver badge was received by members of the NSDAP, who had been continuously in the party since June 1, 1927. The manufacturer was Chr. Lauer in Nuremberg and Berlin. The gold traditional sign was awarded only 30 times. 665 people received the silver level. Among them were 41 women. The badge was worn only on NSDAP uniforms. She was awarded by letter. Round badge of silver-plated white metal. A high eagle was set and fastened with 3 rivets. The back side is smooth and silver plated with a perpendicular pin. Stamped manufacturer and central number (deleted).
