German Awards - Badge of Honor Gau Swimming in Silver

This badge of honor was established in 1933 by Baden Gauleiter Robert Wagner. The occasion was the 10th anniversary of the NSDAP in Baden. It was made of gold and silver. In silver, it was awarded to party members admitted to the party until October 27, 1927. The reason for the appointment of the date was the elections to the Landtag in Baden, in which the NSDAP recorded a large increase in votes, and then an increase in the number of party members. The Gau Gold Badge was awarded to party members who were already members of the NSDAP before 9 November 1923 .
Robert Wagner already in 1923 participated in the Hitler coup and was sentenced to 1 year and 3 months in prison, which was then replaced by 4 years probation. He was instrumental in establishing the NSDAP in Baden and founded the Gau Baden in 1925. Similarly, he again handed Blageterbund to SA. In Blageterbund, he gathered members of the banned SA and the NSDAP. After the National Socialists came to power on May 5, 1933, he became Reichsstatthalter and Gauleiter of Baden. He became the head of the civil administration in Alsace after the occupation of France. Wagner was instrumental in deporting Jews to Alsace, Lorraine, Baden and the Palatinate. Front side:

• The edge is formed by an oak-broad-leaved wreath, a smooth band below.
• The black inscription - GAU - BADEN - is deepened on the smooth tape.
In the
• center of the openwork field are the high eagles of the old-style NSDAP.
• Eagle with spread, curved wings and without pectoral feathers.
• Wings laterally rest on a oak-leaved wreath.
In
• catches, a round oak-leafy wreath with a swastika at the top.

Downside:

• Smooth and silver plated. Vertically thin pin with narrow hinge.
