Awards of Germany - Order of the Star of Brabant Honorary Cross 1. Class with crown

This order was established on June 14, 1914 by the Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig. June 24 is the birthday of Henry I of the ducal tribe of Brabant. He was also one of the founders of this order. The purpose of the order was to confirm the connection that closely connects the prince and the people with a visible sign (order). Men and women of all classes were awarded for services to the prince, people, charity and welfare. He was a purely civil order. Initially, the order was established in 12 classes for men and 4 classes for women. The addition of the crown increased the number of classes to 27, some of which were awarded only once or not at all. Gold-plated silver cork, slightly curved. Cross sleeves with wide beveled gold edges. The ends are rounded and the inner sides enameled. In the center is a large round central shield. On the front side is a golden star. On the upper cruciform shoulder, the golden crown is firmly connected. The back is smooth and gilded with a perpendicular pin.

Front side:

• Cruciform brackets with gray-blue enamel have protruding golden tips at the corners.
• A central shield with a gold border in the same enamel or smelting shop.
• Plastically made star with long rays, resting on cruciform arms.
• Diagonal short rays end at the edge of the medallion.
• Long rays reach the golden edge of the cross sleeves.

Downside:

• The reverse is smooth and gilded without enamel.
