This order was established on June 14, 1914 by the Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig. June 24 is the birthday of Henry I of the ducal tribe of Brabant. He was also one of the founders of this order. The purpose of the order was to confirm the connection that closely connects the prince and the people with a visible sign (order). Men and women of all classes were awarded for services to the prince, people, charity and welfare. He was a purely civil order. Initially, the order was established in 12 classes for men and 4 classes for women. The addition of the crown increased the number of classes to 27, some of which were awarded only once or not at all. Classes were: large cross, large komtur with turquoise, large komtur 1st and 2nd class, large komtur 2nd class. Class with crown, Komtur 1. Class with crown, Komtur 1. Class, Comtour 2. The class with the crown has no awards. It is generally very difficult to prove the fact of awarding the order. The Grand Duke, as the Grand Master of the Order, was entitled exclusively to the award. The demand for return was probably no longer met due to the end of the war. The location of the already made, but no longer handed over insignia has also not been finally clarified. Due to the short rental period and the outbreak of World War I, Brabant's star is extremely rare in all classes.
